A Jewish Wedding Table in Brooklyn

brooklynweddingtable.jpg

Hello from wintry Alaska!  That’s where I currently am, celebrating my honeymoon with this wonderful person.  While I’ve been having a blast with all this wedding stuff, I definitely miss you all at The Jew & The Carrot!  Until I get back next week, I thought I’d share a scene from our wedding table in Park Slope, Brooklyn.  The whole celebration was beyond amazing, and I think this photo of our chatan and kallah (bride & groom) table captures a small part of why.

Alaska? How about that, and I thought people only went to warm weather locations!

But seriously, Alaska’s fishing industry provides the fish for gefiltah fish and other fish products that are staples of our diets. This can be a good fact-finding mission, as it relates well with your work in food.

Mazel tov and have a great trip!
Thanks for arranging for new posts even while you’re on your honeymoon. We readers appreciate this.

Good idea Joel – though to be honest, aside from this post, I tried really hard to not do anything even remotely work-related while on my honeymoon! :)

I didn’t realize that Alaska’s fishing industry was so intimately tied to our Jewish fish consumption (though it makes sense). Do you have any articles that you could share?

    Thanks Hannah. :) :)
