ooooo went to a conference where the dessert was CANDY. I haven't eaten so much junky food since Halloween as a kid! Yeesh - I shouldn't blame them for my bad eating, but I certainly don't buy myself crappy chocolate. But when it is there, and free I eat wayyyy more than I'd care to admit here.

Perhaps you've heard of USY. Yes, I'm sure you have (but just in case, it's "United Synagogue Youth").

Well, every year in December we have International Convention, which is pretty much the extent to which I've experienced conference food. And I know exactly what you mean.

The vegetarian option (singular) was quiche. The same quiche, everyday. It was like one of those frozen ones from Trader Joe's. Breakfast was all processed cereals, danishes (and I do not mean freshly baked), and thawed out bagels with Kraft cream cheese. To drink we had unlabeled milk and OJ from concentrate.

It didn't occur to me at the time what I was going through, but I did notice that my appetite for food drastically decreased by the end. Coincidence? Probably not.
