Rivka, thank you for your comment. I'm so glad you like the story! Rick Bayless is pretty cute there's no denying that. He's so down-to-earth and charming too, which of course makes me like him even more. :)

That is pretty cool how you collect wild fruits for jelly - what is your favorite kind of jelly to make? What do you put it on? Pesach and Shabbos must be amazing at your house and gosh, if you get Rick to come will you invite me too?

Thanks for a great story Ari. I LOVE Rick Bayless! Secretly, well not really, as I tell my poor hubby and kids, I think he is smokin hot and a great dad and husband!
What a neat family he has.
I Tivo Ricks shows, I Tivo anything he is on like Chef's Story.
Ok. so seriously ..I love Rick as he and I have so much in common. I grow stuff in my suburbia backyard to eat. Right now it is heirloom cukes. I love wild fruits and collect them for jelly at their seasonal time. I use no poisons. I think of my guests enjoyment from Pesach to Shabbos dinners...if I can bring my garden to the table for my guests then it is even better!
I would love to have Rick and his family over for a Southern Shabbos...maybe one day!
Great article.
