What a nice article! But Leah, you are mistaken. I haven’t weighed in on the goat debate, but I think schechting one is an excellent idea, and I still (for now) remain at least a pescatarian, if not a vegetarian. Though I have been thinking about eating meat again after 20 years of not doing so (and still thinking, and thinking) I suspect that if I come to the conference and see the shechting, I will never eat it again. But who knows. Anyhow, just wanted to point out that some vegetarians are in favor of it. And with that, good shabbos.
