(Thanks to reader, Amanda, for the tip about this campaign)
The EWG Action Fund started a campaign called Grow Organics, to encourage Congress to increase support for
organic farms in the Farm Bill. They’re shooting for 30,000 signatures and nearing their deadline (midnight Sunday). They only need another 3,000 signatures to meet their goal. If you’re interested in finding out more or signing the petition, click here.

Here’s a working petition link.
I revised my petition letter as follows.
I support EWG Action Fund’s efforts to increase funding for sustainable and organic farming.
I believe Congress can level the agricultural playing field. Allow sustainable and organic farmers to expand access to safer, healthier food that is free of potentially harmful pesticides and genetic modification, and is also more likely to be sufficient to feed the world. I urge our national leaders to include strong organics provisions in this year’s Farm Bill that will:
• give organic farmers their fair share of my tax dollars for development of even more ways to grow food sustainably
• help more farmers make the transition to organic farming
• devote a fair share of resources to organic pest control and crop and soil nourishment
I stand with the EWG Action Fund in urging Congress to Grow Organics now.
