Happy Tu B’shvat

tu b'shvat

Many of us got to share in Tu B’shvat seders around the country last night, many others will gather at other points this week to celebrate the New Year for the Trees. The Tuv Ha’Aretz, Hazon’s Community Supported Agriculture project, at Congregation Kol Ami in Philly shared these amazing photos with us. The photos were taken by Zach Kassutto. Click here to see the slideshow. And Tu B’shvat sameach! A happy Tu B’shvat to all.

What a lovely holiday! Even as we still struggle with ice and snow and lost gloves (I know it was in my pocket) the sap is rising in the trees and the spring awakening has begun. It is the only time no one says we ought to have meat or dairy. All the seven species are vegan. Everyone enjoyed the spread I provided at my synagogue – hope all of you had a good one too.
