Come spend a year with Hazon as an AmeriCorps* VISTA! Join the Hazon Food Program team and work on food justice issues in the NYC-area. Apply to serve as a full-time AmeriCorps* VISTA member, starting June 2009.

The person who joins the team will:

• Coordinate all aspects of establishing, supporting, and evaluating at least two Hazon CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture) based in the NYC-area and supporting and evaluating an additional seven Hazon CSAs throughout NYC-area, including providing on-going support throughout the pre-season and season by working with sites to create systems to provide low-income and discounted shares and developing programs focused
  on food justice. This is year-round work.
• Plan, organize, and evaluate training for 5 – 8 Hazon CSAs during December, 2009.
• Improve the health and nutrition of Hazon CSA members and NYC citizens by organizing 2 – 4 programs that focus on making healthy food choices, such as cooking demonstrations, panel discussions, and special events. These events will be planned for throughout the year.
• Develop and implement guidelines around institutional food procurement. This is year-round work.
