Wow -- I got a little nervous when I first started reading this article. Kosher MacDonald's is just not something to get excited about in my world. Kosher certification has lost its spiritual authority -- it's just a business now. There's no heart in it, unless you're orthodox are more worried about the letter of the law.

I'm also a flaming heretic by orthodox standards, so I'm firmly "outside the eruv."

Gersh - I respectfully disagree - many people are "on the fence" on these issues - here's a person who knows where she stands - within the eruv:)

I'm just amused that in a post essentially saying that kosher fast food places are un-Jewish, a person posts to defend a kosher Subway...by saying that it's in the eruv.

That's really interesting, Lisa. Are the "other Fogels" doing anything special to ensure that their Subway is of high quality? Do you know where they're getting their meat from?

Now the Subway Kosher Deli which opened in Overland Park Kansas in October is NEWS! My sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Roger Fogel are the owners. She was interviewd on KCTE 1510 on the Live with Jay show last Thursday. The restaurant is being supported by the Kosher and non-Kosher diners alike who want a meal that they know will be of high quality, being located in the eruv near the JCC, Sprint Headquarters and the new Overland Park Convention Center.

As we say, Joan and Roger are the OTHER Fogels (Jared Fogle is the Subway spokesperson in some of their ads).
