You're right mom, Martha has got the kosher-for-Passover dessert thing down.

Thanks Ella! Your blog is really great - food and politics is a delicious combination. Definitely feel free to link to us for Pesach (or whenever) - and we'll do the same!

Hi..I saw your comment at blogHer when I left a thank you for the inclusion in the chocolate post. I do a lot of posts and recipes for Jewish holidays and I hope you don't mind if I bookmark you and perhaps link to you when Pesach gets closer.

Your blog looks great!

Need to clarify, Leah. The "pesa-drecht" is from the old days of desserts when everything tasted like cardboard with sugar on it. Somehow our dear friend, Martha, has managed to make some pretty smashing desserts for Passover using all the "updated" Kosher-for-Passover products which now grace the shelves after Purim is over. I think the real trick is to leave out the matzoh!

Enticing post! Love, Mom

I have indeed tasted all the brands listed (scanning to see if that's really true...yep), though my research has been a long and delightfully drawn out. :)

Right on about banning that chocolate "Pesa-drecht," as my mom's family calls all Passover deserts.

Great job with this list! By the way it's written, it seems like some folks at Hazon had themselves a heavenly few weeks tasting all the different brands...

Now we just need to get on these companies' cases to make kosher for Passover chocolates, so we can stop selling those awful K for P milk chocolates as Hebrew School fundraisers!
