B'H
Another sad development in the Jewish world is the use
of 'goyisha' names instead of Jewish.
Our ancestors were redeemed from Egyptian exile
on account of three things. One of them was continuing to use their Hebrew names and declaring themselves proud Jews.
Say! I'm PROUD to be Jewish!
So, if someone is a rabbi how can they, in good
conscience, use a 'goyisha' name?
What, lower yourself to reach others?
How do you know you won't 'fall' yourself? You're also
telling your constituents that you're not REALLY proud
of being Jewish. Not FIERCLEY proud!
If your not FIERCLEY proud, how can you bring others to the Torah of Life? Thrilling LIFE!?

B"H
Just wrote this letter to R' Allen:
To whom it may concern,
I just read the Blog: The Jew and the Carrot
and I refer to: Rabbi Morris Allen Reports from Postville
Firstly I am a proud Lubavitcher Chassid and my name
is Boruch N. Hoffinger. I live in Crown Heights
with my wife and child.
 I saw a video on, I believe, Crownheights.info where
the elder Rubashkin, in broken English, was saying
that all the criticism against him was false and they
treat everyone with kindness.
 R. Morris, why should I believe your words? Why isn't what you and others saying 'loshon HaRa'?
I say this not only bec. I'm a very proud Lubavitcher but, as a Kohaine, I would defend anyone (Even yourself) against charges that have not been proven.
Loshon HaRa is a serious offense.
Curiously, the Conservative movement doesn't believe the Torah is from shemayim, so why are they so concerned with Kashrut? You believe The Torah is man-made, no?

Todah Raabah,

Thanks for the follow up on this story. It's just stunning. I also have to say that I'm again floored at the wisdom of R'Heschel. 40 years ago he said that? It could have been today.

Good Shabbos.

Wow, that's more information than I'd gathered from the mainstream secular or Jewish press. Thanks, Leah.
