Two posts in a row that bash Tofurky! Is it possible that The Jew & The Carrot has no love for the vaguely turkey breast-shaped lump of soy protein, or do we have some serious Tofurkey advocates out there?

Actually, the vegetarians are laughing — the correct spelling is Tofurky! =) But if you’re in the market for a processed mock turkey this Thanksgiving, check out this new product:

Umm…I just checked out Peta’s website and noticed that they claim a number of times that the garden protein Tofurky (note correct spelling) is healthier than the actual Turkey variety simply because it’s vegetarian. Even though the product has minerals and vitamins and no trans fat, I’m sure it is synthetic and it is incredibly processed. I hate to keep pushing this point, but if something is veggie it doesn’t mean it’s healthier, and especially not healthier than low fat Turkey (especially not a local, hormone and steroid free kosher bird).

Oh, and Ben, I love the someecards.com site. Brilliant. I’ve been sending awkward messages to many a friend.
