Fascinating: thanks, Miri, for pointing out the wallet cards available from Monterey Bay Aquarium. Their website (http://www.montereybayaquarium.org/cr/cr_seafoodwatch/download.aspx) has various editions for the continental USA, and there's even an iPod/iPhone application for lifehackers.

But does anyone know of an equivalent wallet card for our European, Middle Eastern, Asian and African readers?

Very cool article, Alix. I'm jonesing for my Top Chef too, and I don't think I can stomach any pretenders, but I am glad that these issues are out there and being discussed in the mainstream media.

As someone who lives on a coast I've been pretty tuned into the sustainable fish movement. Check out Seafood Watch at: http://www.montereybayaquarium.org/cr/seafoodwatch.aspx for wallet-sized guides based on region, etc.

Interesting. Thanks, Alix. A glimmer of good news on the sustainable food front when a celebrity gets behind the idea. Also, I love the use of "chef-testant." Did you coin the phrase, or is it common among the cooking show set? And I just have to add, yay for the Obama's veggie garden. I was happy to see that article in the Times today.
