		<description>Thanks so much for your previous post about shackling and hoisting and for this one as well.

While Israel's Chief Rabbinate has "made a conceptual decision to" do away with shackling and hoisting, "the implementation is something different, something that is going to take a long time" (that's in the words of the Orthodox Union's Menachem Genack in a 2/21 Forward article). While the proposed phase-out is good news, the lack of a time frame means that it might be meaningless for now.

I'm admittedly late to post about the proposed phase-out, but I just did so here:
