Kashrut, or at least the values and ethics and religious traditions behind it, was not discussed. I know it's an industry trade show, but the industry spawned from ancient dietary ritual and one would think there'd be some mention of the meaning of it all. I'd also add that the world's largest kosher soy nut butter and jelly sandwich has also remained etched in my mind, along with the giant floating box of Matzah and the doll that danced to the Matzahrena. I've been the last few years but decided to miss it this year. It is thoroughly depressing as everything falls into the ersatz category. If you're right, and it is a sign of the wider state of the Jewish community, we're all fakes trying to be something else. Actually, now you come to mention it...
