		<description>Having lived with gooseberry bushes for over 20 yers, I can comment they are a pain to pick -- horrible thorns -- but that when they are ripe, the color pictured in your photograph, they are very sweet.  Of course, as describe in some English novels, they do have to be &quot;tipped and tailed&quot; before eating them.</description>
