Hello Suzzie: I too am a Pelaia by birth and live in Michigan. I agree that there are quite a few Pelaia’s both in the US, Canada and Italy. Certainly some of us, somewhere, must be related. I can tell you that my family members are in Georgia, Florida, New York and Texas. I would love to know if any other Pelaia’s are related. My Pelaia’s are from Serra San Bruno, Calabria, Italy. Your challah recipe sounds amazing. I may give it a shot this weekend but to make it parve I think I’ll use soy milk instead. Will it still come out ok?
